What are Audiences?
Audiences are groups of Profiles that can be targeted by a Persona Campaign.
There are 2 main types of audiences: The Main audience, and segments.
Main Audience
This is the default group of profiles in your workspace. It includes every profile, whether they are part of a segment or not, and whether they have been identified or not.
For example, a brand new visitor that has never visited your website in the past would be included in the Main audience. Likewise, a long-term customer on your subscribers’ list would be included in the Main audience.
Segments
Segments are sub-sets of the main audience. A group of specific profiles put on a list based on a set of unique characteristics (Profile attributes or/and events) compared to characteristics referred to in an audience’s segmentation rules. For example, any profile who purchased at least once, or any profile from Australia, or any profile with a specific Shopify Customer Tag.

You can connect Persona to a Peel Insights account and upload audiences you've defined there to Persona.
- If you have a Peel account on a paid plan, you can create new segments on your own or yu can also follow the steps in "Request a segment" to log a segment creation request with your Persona account manager.
