What are Page Sections?

A Page Section is a type of on-page communication channel that can be created in Persona campaigns.

Page Sections are embedded sections that can appear in any website block.

A website block can be an additional section added to a page template, or it can replace an existing section of a page template.


The example below showcases the use of a website block embedded in the hero section of the home page, in the context of a win-back campaign offering a coupon to customers who haven't placed an order in the last 180 days:


How do Website blocks behave?

Unlike notifications and pop-ups, website blocks are embedded in your website, and as such they do not appear, and they do not disappear. Website blocks are loaded when your visitors reach a page where a website block has been embedded and a page section assigned to it.

Unlike pop-ups, which visitors can close a page section can be used to communicate information that would not have fit in a notification or in a pop-up.


The example below showcases the use of a website block embedded right in the center of the customer past orders page, in the context of a review-request campaign thanking recent customers for their order, and inviting them to give a review in exchange of a coupon code:


How attribution and stats work with Page sections?

Page sections track multiple metrics:

Instances - Defines the total number of times this particular website block has appeared during a visitor session in the last 30 days.

Clicks - Defines the total number of times this particular website block has been clicked at least once during a visitor session in the last 30 days.

Orders - Defines the total number of orders that have been attributed to this particular website block in the last 30 days.

Value - Defines the total number of $ value of orders that have been attributed to this particular website block in the last 30 days.


The value of an order can be attributed to a website block only when a click on this website block is recorded right before the order is placed. Visitors viewing website blocks without clicking on them will not have their orders attributed to their website blocks. If more than one Persona communication was interacted with before an order was placed, Persona will attribute the order to the last communication that was interacted with.


How can I set up the "Website block" Channel?

To set up the website block channel, you need to:

  • Create Website spaces in your Persona account
  • Embed those Website spaces in your Website, by placing the relevant Website space div in your storefront theme (Method 1), or, by pointing your website space to a specific section ID existing in your storefront theme (Method 2).
